Sanwo-Olu’s Inauguration: Lagos Declares Monday Work Free Day

Lagos State Government has declared Monday 29, 2023 as work free day to enable civil servants participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the deputy, Dr. Babafemi Hamzat.

A circular by the state Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola called on all permanent secretaries, heads of departments and agencies to mobilise members of staff to Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, venue of the inauguration.

The circular noted that the event would begin by 9am as it urged all civil servants to treat the information urgently.

Today, all commissioners and other political appointees had quit, following the dissolution of the state executive council by the governor during the week

The governor had earlier directed the commissioners, special advisers, special assistants and technical assistants to submit their handover notes to the most senior staff in their various ministries and departments before the close of work today.
