The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will on Wednesday inaugurate two major road projects in Igando and Agege to ensure seamless vehicular movements and boost economic growth in the areas.
Sanwo-olu will embark on the initiative at Abaronje Road in Igando-Ikotun and Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Agege in a bid to curb gridlock and enhance connectivity to other areas of the state from the communities.
In a statement made yesterday by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the projects reflect the government’s commitment to providing infrastructure that supports inclusive economic growth and improves the quality of life of residents.
Omotosho relayed that in the past few months, the Governor has handed over 36 roads and five bridges to fir the use of residents in the state.
“The Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road was reconstructed by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation to serve as a strategic bypass cutting across the administrative boundaries of Agege and Alimosho Local Government Areas,” Omotosho said.
” The completion of these roads aligns with the state’s strategic efforts to build sustainable communities and reduce traffic gridlocks.
“The delivery of these projects has significantly improved road connectivity, eased traffic flow, reduced travel time, and eliminated perennial flooding in the areas.
“Similarly, the Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun LCDA was rebuilt to enhance accessibility in one of the largest settlements within the Alimosho axis. Also, we have enhanced intermodal transportation and positively impacted the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.”
