Sanwo-Olu Hosts Lagos One Day Governor

The First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has hosted winner of the state’s Spelling Bee competition and One Day Governor, Abdulazeez Abdulrahman.

Sanwo-Olu received Abdulrahman at the State House in Marina on Monday.

The competition’s winner and Student of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, was accompanied by the One Day Deputy Governor, Oki Sewanu, of Ansar-Ud-Deen Senior Grammar School, Badagry and the One Day Secretary to the State Government, Alimot-Odere, Student of Jubilee Model Senior Grammar School, Coker Aguda.

The host commended the students for their academic efforts and triumph at the 20th edition of the competition. She noted that the competition has over the years created a platform to build student’s confidence and vocabulary to make them better communicators.

The First Lady admonished the students to  work indefatigably towards attaining success in their academics. She emphasized that the state government under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will continue to provide a conducive learning environment for  students.

She recalled back to various initiatives aided by the state government which included – War Against Drug Abuse, Fight Against Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Lagos Boy Child Initiative, School Support Initiative, to mention few.

Sanwo-Olu also implored the students to shun  social vices and strife to become good ambassadors of their community and the nation.
