The governor of Lagos state, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwolu has granted more time to owners of already built or developing buildings without Building Permit till the end of the year, December 31, 2024.
This change was announced in the last Lagos Physical Planning Summit meeting conducted at Eko Hotel by the Governor. This is the third time of extending the Building Permit period. The VA first extension was announced to be from May 2 to July 30 and was later extended till October.
Stated by the Governor “the new extension aims to give property owners enough time and opportunities to register their Buildings without discomfort.
He further stated that this decision is part of his management effort aimed at alleviating economic challenges in the human-made environment and also to cooperate with the Physical Planning Regulations to ensure a high standard of living and a better Lagos.
During this meeting, the Governor also launched the Physical Planning Permit Barcode, this code will be issued to buildings that have successfully obtained a Building Permit.
He also praised the former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola for using his tenure to shape a modern Lagos with notable amenities.
In addition, the Governor detailed other ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects with the purpose of enhancing and improving the standards of living in Lagos.
