Sanwo-Olu Cares Foundation Empowers 150 People

The Sanwo-Olu Cares Social Intervention Programme, has empowered  150 beneficiaries who have received cheques from the Lagos State Government through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement.

Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, in his speech stressed that the programme is aimed at improving the lives of the poor living residents and to encourage economic empowerment to face this current hardship head-on.

He said “Every eligible and vulnerable citizen has a right to receive the support they need to overcome financial challenges and contribute to the State’s economic growth. Hence today’s event symbolises Mr. Governor’s dedication to his No One Will Be Left Behind philosophy. This is just the beginning of our commitment to ensuring that every Lagosian has the opportunity to thrive. Sanwo-Olu will continue to listen, understand, and respond to the needs of Lagosians.”

He also noted that there is no sort of discrimination in selecting these beneficiaries, they were all selected according to their application and detail of their needs. They all got different amounts according to their needs.

Moving forward, some of the beneficiaries appreciated the LASG for this grant. Mrs. Esther Akinbamire, one of the beneficiaries the money will be used for her ailing son’s medical bill. She also thanked the Hon. Ruth Lijirin for coming to her aid at the time she needed it the most and for contributing to the treatment of her son.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Gani Dada, a retiree also appreciated the LASG for giving him financial aid, noting that he will use the money to sort his health issues.

Dignitaries who attended the event are the Permanent Secretary, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Ms. Sholabomi Shasore, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Ruth Lijrin, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political and Legislative, Hon. Saidi Balogun as well as Directors and Staff of the Office.
