Residents Lauds Oloyede As Interlocking Pavement Placement Begins On Omilade Street

Residents of Omilade Street were overjoyed as the delivery of interlocking pavement stones marked the beginning of their long-awaited road improvement project. The community’s anticipation turned into excitement on Wednesday, September 26, 2024, as the stones arrived and placement began immediately.

Prior to the stone delivery, graders had diligently worked to prepare the street for the interlocking pavement stones, ensuring a smooth installation process. This vital infrastructure upgrade is expected to enhance accessibility, safety, and overall quality of life for Omilade Street residents.

The extensive road rehabilitation project on the 490X8 road in Mafoluku, one of the longest streets in the local government area, is nearing completion, with the final stage of paving stone installation underway. This milestone follows the successful reconstruction of the entire drainage system, grading of the road, and coverage of the drainage slabs.

Echonews reports that the project’s imminent completion signifies a major improvement in local infrastructure, promising enhanced accessibility, reduced traffic congestion, and better flood management for residents and businesses along the 490X8 road.

The chairman, of the local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede appreciated the patience, supports and understanding of the residents pending the duration of the rehabilitation, stressing that the inconvenience experienced were needed to get a thorough job done.

He assured of his commitment to transform the local government and provide projects that will outlive him.

Oloyede equally assured other areas that he is poised to even distribution of developmental projects across the council areas.

An elated resident, Mrs Chichi Nwankobia appreciated the council chairman, stating that “the quality of job done is superb. I am very very happy seeing the progress of the road. The discomfort we experienced will not be compared to the benefits we will get once the road is finished. Thank you so much my chairman.”

Also corroborating her was a business owner, Mr. Francis Ezeofor, who eulogized the continued efforts of the council chairman.

He said “I am extremely happy for this road. This road once completed will really boost our business. We have all been praying for the chairman and I hope our prayers will meet him and his family.”

Also showing her appreciation was a property owner, Alhaja Memunat Akingbadebo, who rained prayers on the council chairman, praying for the success of his administration.
