Residents of Ejigbo have commended the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), who doubles as the coordinator of South South People’s United Forum (SSPU), Ejigbo Chapter, Hon. Omatseye Fregene, for supporting a hairstylist at Ifoshi ward with working equipment.

As part of his contribution towards reducing youth unemployment, Fregene donated a hairdryer to Miss Titilayo Olajide to work with.

Presenting the equipment to Miss Olajide was the chairman of SSPUF Leaders/Elders committee, Chief Anene Enebeli, who advised her to ensure appropriate use of the equipment and to continue to portray a well behaved, talented and easygoing character that would elevate her towards more success in life.

While expressing gratitude over the kind gesture, Olajide described Fregene as a submissive leader worthy to be emulated by  others.

She assured to make judicious use of the  equipment to multiply her resources through efficiency and determination in her enterprise.

Commenting on the gift, Fregene explained that he was urged to render such empowerment support to ensure more youths are engaged in gainful vocations to reduce the rate of unemployment in the community.

He said the gesture would also encourage other youths to change their mindset towards learning vocations.

He noted that the only means to reduce unemployment is for the youths to engage in vocational trainings and acquire the necessary skills to create jobs for themselves.

He, therefore, urged other benefactors and the government to always render support for the youths who have acquired vocational skills.
