Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff dies after seizure, pneumonia

Reggae legend and actor James Chambers, widely known as Jimmy Cliff, has passed away.
The news was shared on Cliff’s official social media channels, with his wife confirming that he died following a seizure that led to pneumonia.
“It is with profound sadness that I share that my husband, Jimmy Cliff, has crossed over due to a seizure followed by pneumonia,” the announcement read on his official Facebook page.
Cliff’s wife expressed gratitude to family, friends, fellow artists, and colleagues who supported him throughout his career. She also thanked fans for their enduring love, saying it was a source of strength for the entertainer.
“I am thankful for his family, friends, fellow artists, and coworkers who have shared his journey with him. To all his fans around the world, please know that your support was his strength throughout his career. He truly appreciated every fan for their love,” she wrote.
The statement also acknowledged the medical staff who cared for Cliff. “I also want to thank Dr Couceyro and the entire medical team for being extremely supportive during this difficult time. Jimmy, my darling, may you rest in peace. I will follow your wishes,” she added.
She concluded by asking for privacy during the family’s time of mourning and indicated that further information will be provided later.
