Nigeria thrash Australia local side Lion FC 8-1 in a friendly game on Saturday July 15.

Asisat Oshoala grabbed a brace, Ifeoma Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Gift Monday, Tony Payne, and Uchenna Kanu all got on the score sheet in the thrashing of their Australian opponent.

US based forward, Onumonu put the Falcons in the spotlight in the game as they took the lead.

Oshoala popped up to score a brace to set Nigeria in the driving seat of the game.

Tony Payne and Ajibade added to the misery of Lion FC in the exhibition game.

Kanu, Ayinde and Monday also got on the score sheet as Super Falcons tormented their opponent with goals.

Lions FC pulled a goal back to mark a remarkable defeat in their club history.

The win is expected to boost the morale of the players in camp as they prepare for the bigger task ahead which is the World Cup.

The Super Falcons will trade tackles with Canada on the 21st of July in their World Cup opener.
