In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, the Councillor representing Ward C3, Hon. (Princess) Saidat Adeoba Odeyemi — fondly known as the Joy Giver — on Monday, October 13, 2025, embarked on an outreach that brought smiles to the faces of young pupils across Igbogbo/Baiyeku.
With a mission to support education and ease the financial burden on families, Princess Saidat and her team visited Oreta Primary School and Offin Ile Primary School, transforming what began as an ordinary school day into one filled with excitement, gratitude, and hope.
At Oreta Primary School, the pupils’ joy was unmistakable as the team distributed 40 brand-new school uniforms. The Headmaster, Comrade Oluwaseyi Bolaji Senuga, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that fosters pride and motivation among learners. He prayed for continued wisdom and success for the Councillor, whose consistent dedication has continued to uplift the ward.
Princess Saidat’s team assured the school community that this was just the beginning, promising to revisit after a full needs assessment to provide additional support and ensure no child is left behind.
The outreach train then moved to Offin Ile Primary School, where the visit began with royal blessings from the Baale of Offin Ile Community, Chief Oluwaseyi Alimi. His warm reception underscored the community’s support for initiatives aimed at strengthening education and empowering children.
At Offin Ile, the Joy Giver once again lived up to her name, presenting more than 50 new school uniforms and pairs of sandals to pupils, ensuring they are properly kitted for their academic journey.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Arowolo, expressed gratitude for the intervention and drew attention to pressing infrastructural challenges, particularly the school’s toilet facilities. In response, Princess Saidat pledged to address the issue, reaffirming her commitment to holistic development within the education sector.
The day’s outreach was more than a charitable exercise — it was a reaffirmation of hope and a message to the children of Igbogbo/Baiyeku that they are seen, valued, and supported.
Through this initiative, Princess Saidat once again demonstrated that leadership is not about position but about service. Her actions echoed a powerful truth — that the future of the community shines brightest when compassion meets purpose, one child and one smile at a time.
