One of the aspirants for the chairmanship of Isolo LCDA during the 2017 local government polls, Princess Olateru Olagbegi has declared plans to throw her headgear into the ring again,
Olagbegi, who spoke with ECHONEWS in a brief media chat during an event at the council secretariat recently revealed that her belief in the supremacy of her party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) made her to step down in 2017, disclosing her intention to run for the post in 2021 if given the opportunity.
She said she wished to emerge as the next chairman to consolidate on the developmental works of the incumbent council boss, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye.

In her words: “Party supremacy came to play in 2017 and we had to step down for the incumbent chairman but, if I am given the opportunity this time around, I will serve the good people of Isolo Local Council Development Area.”
Speaking further about what she would do if afforded the chance, she said: “Well, it is always good to solidify legacies that border around development and growth. The council chairman is doing his best and there is nothing as good as to solidify the development and carry everyone along. This is what I will do if given the opportunity. I have the wealth of experience needed to lead the council.”
Olagbegi is not the only one to be in race to succeed the incumbent chairman, a host of others who include the incumbent Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Bayo Olasoju, the current Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Emmanuel Ologede and one time Member of the Federal House of Representative who represented Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Akeem Muniru are reported to be eyeing the coveted position.
