By Damilola Kushimo
As Muslims commence 2021 Ramadan fasting on Tuesday, the chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Shamsudeen A. Olaleye has urged them to pray for the nation in the Holt month.
While greeting the Muslims faithful on the start of this year’s Ramadan 1442 A.H, Shammeh enjoined them to use the opportunity of the holy month to pray for peace and security in the country.
He wished Muslim adherents a successful fasting exercise while advising them to imbibe the teachings of the Qur’an and the tenets of Ramadan.
The council chairman, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Muyiwa Asalejo, said the Qur’an is a manual for observing Ramadan, noting that the Qur’an was revealed during the month of Ramadan in the Night of Majesty (Lailatul Qadr).
He emphasised that Qur’an teaches Muslims to establish and express goodness and forbid evil, adding that the holy book is the theory while Ramadan is the practical life for all Muslims.
“As we embarked on the 30 days fasting, may Allah accept all our prayers and worship, keep us and preserve us to witness the last 10 fasting days and beyond,” he prayed.
He assured that his government will continue to spread the dividends of democracy among the residents.
