The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Makinde Police Station, Mafoluku, Oshodi,  CSP Francis Ebhuoma, has intervened in the communal clash between Arewa youths living in the community and some Yoruba youths.

Although the cause of the crisis could not be verified, it was gathered that the chaos broke out Monday August 3, as a result of attempt to retaliate the previous attack.

The ‘Boys’ from Temidire Street and Garage had engaged the Arewa ‘Boys’ in a fight that almost degenerated into tribal clash in which a vehicle was vandalised.

However, the DPO told ECHONEWS that the dispute has been settled and that normalcy has since returned to the community.

He explained that the leadership of both parties in the community have written a jointly signed letter to the police in which they agreed to settle the crisis amicably and caution their children against further engagement in such fracas.

To maintain orde in the community, the police boss said he has deployed police officers to frequently patrol the community to forestall any such occurrences.

However, none of the members of the two parties involved in the crisis community was ready to talk to the media over the crisis as they all maintained that it had been settled.
