Police Prosecute Man For Burglary And Stealing

A man identified as Medoye Abayomi has been arrested by the Lagos State Police command for allegely breaking into an apartment to commit theft.

 

The 27-year-old suspect was arrainged at the Badagry Magistates’ Court on two-count charge of housebreaking and theft proffered against him by the Police.

 

The prosecutor, ASP Clément Okuiomose, told Magistate Taiwo Popoola who presided over the case that Abayomi committed the offences on January 5, at 10 p.m., at Kilometre 20, Badagry Expressway, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

Okuiomose claimed that the defendant broke into the home of one Reuben Ochei with the purpose of committing a felony.

 

The prosecutor also stated that the defendant stole one Infinix Smart 6 phone worth N100,000 alongside other valuables whose worth are yet to be ascertained

 

He said that the offences violated Sections 308 and 287 of the Lagos Criminal Laws of 2015.

 

Magistrate Popoola granted the defendant N200,000 bail with two sureties in the same amount.

He adjourned the case till May 21
