During the proceeding on Tuesday, the Prosecutor, Reuben Solomon, disclosed that the suspect, on September 13, 2018, connived with others still at large to present forged military pension board documents claiming to be one Olusola Gabriel, the next of kin to the late account holder.

Solomon held that the plan was foiled when the bank officials forwarded the documents to the Nigeria Military Pension Board for verification after which they were declared fake.

The policeman added that the alleged offences violate the provisions of Sections 411, 365, 380 and 406 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Olusegun pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Oseni Wahab, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum after which he was remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending the perfection of his bail terms.

Wahab adjourned the case till October 14.
