Police Arraign Passengers For Fighting Aboard Flight

Three persons have been held on trial for fighting while boarding a plane.
The Lagos State Police Command, while arraigning the trio at the Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos, said that the passengers put up a disruptive behaviour during their flight which took off from London to Lagos.
In flight No P4.7579, on February 12, at about 8:000pm, the trio – Adewale Adedigba, 52, Magnis Ashibuogwu,53, and Iwunze Benjamin, 30, were said to have commited breach of peace. Police Prosecutor, Oladipupo Taiwo, held that the defendants engaged in disrupting the flight by shouting on top of their voices, causing panic and public disturbance among passengers and crew.
Taiwo, while informing that the actions breached the public peace under Section 168(1)(d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015, said that the incident is in violation of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Section 4(1)(a)(b) of the FAAN Bye-Law 2005.
The Prosecutor also submitted that an airline staff at the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos, reported the incident.
The court did not take the litigants plea, hence, adjourned the case till March 10.
