Police Arraign Man Over Allerged Assaut, Threat To Life Against Sibling

The Police in Lagos has arraigned one Isreal Etuk over allegations of assault and threat to life on his sibling.
Etuk, 24, was arraigned at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court where he was on trial on a two trial on two-count charge of assault and threat to life.
Police Prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, said that the accused, who pleaded guilty to the charges, m committed the offences on November 12, in the Magbon area of Badagry.
Ekpo alleged that the defendant unlawfully assaulted his brother, one Sunday Etuk, by slapping him in the face, beating him up and causing him injuries.
He alleged that the defendant also threatened to kill the complainant with a cutlass.
The Prosecutor also said that the defendant was consequently arrested after the incident and handed over to police for prosecution.
Ekpo submitted that the offences contravene the provisions of sections 168 and 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
Thereafter, the Presiding Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted the defendant bail in the sum N500,000 with three sureties in like sum.
Layeni ordered that one of the surety must be a community leader and adjourned the case until Decemver 15.
