Osolo, residents commend Johnson over monthly food distribution

Osolo of Isolo, HRM, Oba Kabir Agbabiaka has commended the Member Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Engr. Ganiyu Johnson for distributing food items free across the community, saying the gesture is one of the beat supports the indigent people in the community could get from politicians.
The residents of Isolo Local Council Development Area were full of appreciation as the received the foods in front of Osolo palace on Sunday, January 19, 2020.
Hundreds of the recipient’s of the foods commended the lawmaker for his persistence in his monthly foods distribution programme tagged “Foods for All”, saying the gesture has really supported their needs.
The programme which started in November 2019 is conceived by the lawmaker as part of effort to feed the people in the constituency as the distribution of the food items is rotated between Isolo and Ejigbo on monthly basis.
Speaking, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson said the idea as conceived purposely to make sure that the common people on the street have the sense of being part of the government by getting the dividends of democracy even at the local level.
“I have promised that this programme will continue on monthly basis. I want everybody to know that they have somebody representing and fighting for them at the federal level.
“The era when people normally complained that they didn’t know their reps has gone, we bring government down to the people on the street and that is why we also organised monthly meeting between us and the people in the constituency. They are given the opportunity of meeting me personally and table their requests.
“Our programmes are not for APC party members only, they are for everybody in the constituency whether they are APC or not and irrespective of their tribes.”
Commending the lawmaker, one of the recipients, Mrs. Gloria Ayandosu said: “Hon. Ganiyu Johnson is an exemplary leader. All his programmes are commendable because they are targeted at the common people.”
Adesola, a student said: “This is what is called government. I cherish this as I’m one of the beneficiaries. At least with these food items, some people would have something to feed.”
“I missed this when it was distributed last but thank God i receive a pack today. I pray God protect Hon. Johnson as i wish he continue this. Thanks you sir Hon. Ganiyu Johnson”
Meanwhile, the Johnson’s Media Head, Dotun Oladapo said the foods would be taken to Ejigbo this week for distribution.
