The paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka has showered royal blessings on the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo LCDA for the forthcoming council election.
The monarch blessed the candidates when they paid visitation to the palace as the party kicked started the seven-day ward-to-ward campaign rally today, beginning with Akinbaiye ward; the royal ward.
Recall that ECHONEWS reported that the party will commence the coucil tour today beginning with Akinbaiye and will round it off in Ilasamaja Ward next Monday.
The chairmanship candidate, Hon Adebayo Olasoju, his running mate Hon. Shakir Sadiq Adeola, the Councillorship candidate for the ward Hon Idris Babatunde Amusa and other Councillorship candidates as well as mammoth of party faithfuls were led to the palace of the distinguished monarch by the ward chairman Hon. Samad Olanrewaju Badmos (Alausa).
Hosting the candidates in the vast hallowed palace, Osolo, in anticipation of the party’s success prayed that Olasoju’s administration will bring about transformational development in the council area.
He urged Olasoju to run all-inclusive governance and work with all members of the party without any form of discrimination and also foster unity among his councillors and party members.
He appealed to the vice-chairmanship candidate, Hon. Shakir Sadiq Adeola to support and work cooperatively with Olasoju for the success of the administration.
Turning to the councillors, the monarch pleaded with them to justify the mandates of their respective constituents by working hand-in-hand with the chairman and being up and doing with their legislative and oversight duties.
The monarch fervently appealed to all party faithfuls to ensure that all hands are on deck to command impressive victory for all the party’s candidates by ensuring a massive turnout of voters in all seven wards come Saturday, July 24.
The campaign team was, at first, received by a huge amount of members of the ward at College bus-stop from where they proceeded around the community through Moshalashi Street to Mushin Road, Kogberegbe, Atuyeye, Ehingbeti, James Oni, Aregbe street preaching the gospel of the candidates’ aspirations and visiting some community leaders which include the Lisa of Isolo, Chief Akibu Atanda Aregbe who doubles as the Aare Jagunmolu of Isolo Kingdom, Ekeerin of Isolo Chief S.A Lawal and the Balogun of Isolo Chief Mojeeb Adam.
The team distributed souvenirs which include exercise books and noodles.
They, however, settled at Consumer Base junction where Olasoju addressed party faithfuls reiterating his promises and soliciting their votes to, ”make Isolo greater.”
He presented the party’ flag to Hon. Idris Amusa Babatunde – the councillorship candidate in the ward.
Commenting on the outcome of the rally, the Director-General of the campaign committee, Hon. Jamiu Omotayo commended the host community for the massive turnout that characterised the rally.
He explained that the peaceful nature of the rally further attested to the peace and tranquillity that has been established in the community and quelled the rumour that there’s crisis in Isolo.
He expressed his ecstasy about the rally in the ward and predicted that other ward chairmen who were part of the outing will ensure that the rally in their respective wards will record an impressive turn out better than what was witnessed in Akinbaiye.
Political and social groups that were part of the political outing in Akinbaiye included Ndigbo in APC, South-South group in the council area, Arewa Group and Students group led by Comrade Yusuf Abdulahi (Pressy poly).
According to the campaign itinerary, Alagbeji Ward will be hosting the campaign team tomorrow and Aiye Bus Stop has been fixed as the take-off point.
