Oshodi/Isolo Plea For Extension Of Free Medical Mission.
Oshodi / Isolo and Ejigbo Community are among the beneficiaries of the ongoing LSGA Free Medical Mission. The LGA / LCDA billed to run for 3 days in the month of march, was a success, with a huge crowd turn out.
Looking at the statistic of the data gathered from the inception of the health care mission, starting with 3,000 turn out in Ojo LGA/ LCDA, 6,000 turn out in Badgary LGA/LCDA, 7,000 people turn out in Oshodi LGA/LCDA and yet, the communities are pleading for an extension of the medical program.
Responding to the plea of the people, the Commissioner for Health Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris said, the mission is programmed, to move and cover the whole of the state. He said other (LGA)/LCDA must benefit from the free medical mission too.
The Commissioner referred communities to go, to the Primary Health Centers and the General Hospitals for further treatments and checkups. To enjoy the facilities he said, Gov. Ambode had committed huge investment on health infrastructure.
Dr. Idris said, renovations have been done in all Primary Health Center, General Hospitals. Approval of the employment of more staff in the Laboratories of Teaching Hospital, to man the facilities that have been put in place.”
“This program is specially designed to take health care back to the grass root people in their different locations, finding out problem peculiar to these LGA/LCDA and to propagate health information to the grass root on what to do concerning health care” he said.
Adding that, statistics shows that quite several people have hypertension, diabetics, common infectious diseases and none communicable diseases. “If not treated at once, these problems can lead to permanent sickness with severe complications.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Primary Health Care, Dr. Olufemi Oladayo Onanuga stated said, Oshodi LGA is the third facet of Eko Health Mission Care. Reviewing the population turnout of the LGA, he said it increases at every point in time, an indication, that information is disseminated to the grass root level.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Community and Communication, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan said health is a priority for the people and only healthy people can function properly in different aspect of life. Adding that the survival of the people most be incurred.
Oshodi / Isolo LGA Sole Administrator Hon. Taoheed Taiwo Adebayo said, a massive health intervention like this has touched a lot of lives in positive ways. He employed the people to key into the program and benefit from the government goodwill. Saying that “A healthy citizen is a progressive nation”.
The Sole Administrator of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Adigun said, health is wealth and that is the reason why Gov. Ambode is passionate about the health and wellbeing of citizens of Lagos State.
