Oshodi residents plead with IKEDC to fix fallen cables

Residents of Olaiya, Mafoluku community in Oshodi have cried out to Ikeja Electric to fix the electrical cable which had cut off from electric pole leaving the community in total darkness.
A resident, Hamza Thanni told our correspondent that the cable had been left unattended to for almost a week, adding that all attempts to get the Ikeja electric officers to fix the cable has remained unsuccessful.
Hamza said live has not remained the same for the residents as they have to keep struggling to get water while the foods in their refrigerators were getting spoilt due to persistent power outage caused by the fallen cables.
He appealed to the IKEDC officials to, as a matter of urgency, fix the cable in order to restore power in the community.
“We have remained in darkness, all efforts to get the Ikeja electric officials to fix the fallen cable have not yielded any positive result. We want them to quickly help us fix this.
“We have no water, our foods in the fridges are getting spoilt,” he said.
He added that the cut cables were dangerous as they could cause electrocution in the community.
All effort to contact the IKEDC management by ECHONEWS as at the time this story was filled during the weekend also proved abortive.
