Prospective organisers of street carnivals in Oshodi Local Government during the Yuletide must obtain the permission of the local government and the police, the chairman, Hon. Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh announced at the weekend.
He said the measure, which is effective from December 20, 2019 to January 10, next year was taken to avert the breakdown of law and order within Oshodi community, stating that some unscrupulous elements may hide under the guise of street carnivals to perpetuate evil.
The council boss further sent a stern warning that on no condition should any individual or group organize a street Jamz or carnival without getting an approval from the Local Government and the police.
He therefore implored residents of Oshodi to be law abiding and be security conscious in order to have a hitch free yuletide celebration.
