Oshodi LGEA trains new school managers

Fifteen newly inducted headteachers in Oshodi-Isolo Association of Primary School Headteachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) have been educated on the duty and responsibility of their positions.

After the induction, , the Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA) Education Secretary (ES), Barr. Femi Ogunwusi, advised them to see the post as a call to service , saying they must manage their schools to meet the expectations of the people.

The newly inducted headteachers include Ajaegbu Nkechi – Ajao Estate Primary School Isolo; Idjerhefere Veronica – Ire-Akari Estate Model Primary School; Okoroafor Ugbogu – Farombi Primary School; Aguwa Laouisa – Gbeleyi Primary School; and Anyanwu Margaret – Local Government Primary School, all from Isolo zone1.

Zones 2 and 3 inductees are Opawole Felicia – Ifosi Primary School Ejigbo and Ezelibe Caroline from Central Primary School, Oshodi.

Others from Zone 4 include Tijani Monsurat – Larinde Primary School, Mafoluku; Nwaebo Theresa – Monsuru Agoro Primary School, Mafoluku; Adebayo Felicia – Aregbe Primary School, Mafoluku; Adebayo Cecilia – Mafoluku Home Economics, Mafoluku; Afolabi Susan -Local Government Primary School, Shogunle; Oladepo Grace – Folaranmi Primary School, Shogunle and Fasoro Christiana – State Primary School, Mafoluku.

During the induction held inside Wesley Primary School Hall, Oshodi, the   trainers, Mrs. Lola Komolafe and Mr. Abraham Odu, charged the inductees to be more diligent while discharging their duty as they have attained the pinnacle of their career in primary school level.

The training was based on three cogent topics such as the leadership skills, ethics of school management and effective handling of school records.

Under leadership skills, the inductees were taught to create team spirit among staff members and the pupils to develop team work, aid integration of individual and team objectives and to be dynamic in process.

In human relationship and ethics, as school managers, they are expected to avoid disgrace in the profession and to live a life worth of emulating by other staff members and pupils.

They were equally educated that school record keeping should be kept with utmost honesty of facts in an accurate and confidential manner of handling information presented in the school records.

All the inductees pledged to give their best in the discharge of school management duty and responsibility, promising to comply with the rules and regulations guiding the education system.
