Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Pioneers Solar-Powered CCTV Installation to Enhance Security

In an effort to bolster security and protect the lives and properties of its residents, the Oshodi-Isolo local government, under the leadership of Chairman Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, is set to introduce solar-powered surveillance Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras across identified black spots in the area.

This pioneering initiative, the first of its kind in Lagos State, aims to significantly improve the security architecture in Oshodi, making it a safer environment for businesses and individuals alike.

He said, “we are about to embark on a pilot scheme of digitalization of the security of Oshodi and its environs by installing solar-powered CCTV cameras in designated black spots of Oshodi; this will be the first of its kind in local government administration in Lagos.”

Aside from the installation of the CCTV cameras, the council chairman will also in no distance time be providing the three divisional police stations within the council with security vehicles to be stationed around black spots to prevent the breakdown of law and order, forestall incessant cult clashes and improve response time.

As security remains part of his administration’s priority, Otunba Oloyede disclosed that he will ensure an improved welfare package for the security agencies within the council to further motivate them to ensure improved security within the gateway to Lagos state local government.

He said; “In the coming weeks, the Police will be strengthened and supported with the provision of patrol sedan cars that will be stationed in and around designated black spots for effective security of the lives and properties of our people as well as maintain law and order. We are determined and focused on ensuring continued security and safety of our people, their businesses and properties at all times.”

“Also, as a way of ensuring efficiency in the performance of our security agencies, the local government will see to the needs of our 3 divisional Police stations, and there will be improved welfare packages for the running of each division as well as other logistics.
