Daycare service has been a veritable source of internally generated revenue (IGR) for Oshodi-Isolo Local Government as it makes about N2.16million on the average from the service annually.
ECHONEWS gathered that the Centre, operated within the council secretariat, has more than 30 kids in attendance, from whom it generates averagely estimated incomes amount to N180,000 on monthly basis.
It was said that the income is used for the maintenance of the centre and the salaries of the staff members in charge of the kids care.
Some of the parents who spoke to ECHONEWS confirmed the modern facilities such as toys, TV set at the centre and the cheaper charges as the factors that attracted them.
Expressing satisfaction with the services, the parents said security measures put in place to protect the kids put their mind at rest.
These, they said, includes strict adherence to who the kids are released to at the end of the day and the form filling procedures which makes it standard.
According to the officer in charge, Mr. Akeem Adekoya, the monthly fee charges are as low as N4,000 for staff members’ kids and N6,000 for non-staff members’ kids compared to N8,000 or more charged outside without facilities to engage the kids with.
He also mentioned that the kids are fed with what their parents provide based on the nutritional preferences of each child while the care takers act according to the parents’ instructions.
