“I expect to see the best of talents showcasing what they have to offer. I expect to see teams maximizing the opportunities, it’s also an opportunity for us, it’s not everyday you see the head coach of a top football nation team who just won their League Cup in the MLS in America, the same League Lionel Messi plays in, say they want to come to the grassroot and come with their assistant coach to watch the best players.

“These are opportunities and we want to see the teams grab the opportunities. It’s not everytime you see kadis come to Nigeria and come with their team and sign a contract even before seeing any players, to say at least one player would spend six weeks trial with them.

These are opportunities we hope and believe they would grab.”

Oshoba further assured participating clubs that scouts from VFB Stuttgart (Germany), Cadiz (Spain) KTP (Finland), and South America will be on ground to choose their preferred best legs.

“We have the VfB team coming to Nigeria also, looking at the talents they can sign and looking for teams they can loan them to for a year, and they can develop and move on to bigger clubs, and then even if those caliber of clubs are too high, the lower hanging fruits like a club in KTP in Finland.

“They were here last year, they gave two players a contract, unfortunately the terms were not favorable to the teams even though we feel they were fair and it’s a good deal, we can only create the platform, it’s left for the teams to grab it.

“But the great thing is that despite that, the spelvin director is coming back again with the head coach, it’s the same team that signed former MFM central defender Nigeria under 23 central defender Joshua Akpudje, and we expect that the teams will grab the opportunities and it’s an opportunity to change their lives and fulfill their dreams.

“One of the improvement is, first of all, we Lagos have more competing teams in this year’s edition than last year.

Last year we had 16 in Lagos, this year we have 72.

In Edo State, we had four last year, this year we have 12.

In states like Kastina, we have 16 teams being the first edition. In Delta State, they have 11. So one of the things is that across board, almost every state either maintains their level of competence or surpass expectations. This time around, they are playing on a better pitch, they’re playing on a very good place to play football, and then another thing this time around, is that for every man of the match, they go home with five thousand naira.

“So every single game, the man of the match is being rewarded for his performance with five thousand naira, by digitvant pay microfinance bank.”
