Opeyemi Bamidele Emerged Senate Majority Leader

Former Lagos State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Sen.Opeyemi Bamidele today emerged the Majority Leader of Nigeria’s Upper Chamber.

The lawmaker representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district, Senator Bamidele of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged Senate Majority Leader of the Senate while Senator Ali Ndume (Borno Central) as Chief whip.

The immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Dave Umahi (Ebonyi South) emerged as Deputy Senate Leader. While Senator Lola Ashiru (Kwara South) is being considered as Deputy Chief Whip.

President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio made the announcement of both Majority and Minority Principals before commencement of Tuesday’s Plenary.
