The Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) Pastor Samuel Olumuyiwa Opajobi alongside the HOD of Department of Agriculture and Social Services, Mrs Oyafunke Omolabake has inaugurated a new Community Development Association (CDA) under Ifako forum and it is ‘Kehinde Taylor Landlords’ Association (KETLA) Estate CDA’.
The newly inaugration was said to be in a bid to foster community development through grassroot engagement while consolidating on the gains of the H.E.E.D.S Agenda of the Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Mr. Usman Hamzat.
The Chairman of the CDC, Pastor Opajobi, complimented the CDA on a job well done on the inauguration. He informed the CEOs about the CDC’s operating procedures and thanked them for their unselfish dedication.
He did, however, exhort them to maintain their fervor for their financial commitment, especially the yearly installments that comprise taxes and renewals made to the state and local governments.
In addition, he urged them to always collaborate and work as a group in order to promote togetherness, which is a vital requirement for any community’s growth.
Mrs. Oyafunke listed the responsibilities of a CDA and emphasized the necessity for them to collaborate in order to fulfill their role as a CDA in her keynote address to the executives and the residents of the new CDA.
Therefore, via the different activities and programs anticipated of any CDA in Lagos, it is vital that the executives and the residents work together to achieve the human and infrastructural advances in the CDA.
Unlike the Landlords’ Association, the CDA represents a bigger picture that provides a platform for collaboration, intervention schemes, grants, partnerships, and other extensive bargaining for community advancement from within and outside the CDA. It also gives the CDA a direct link to the local and state governments with some essential benefits that come with it.
Thereafter, the HOD Agric conducted the inauguration for the elected executive officers amidst excitement and happiness from other members. She urged them to always show the right attitude and attention to the CDA responsibilities.
Besides, the inauguration ceremony was attended by the duo of Alh. Azeez (Vice Chairman) and Alh. Bilesanmi (Secretary of Ifako-Ijaiye CDC). Also, staffers of the department of Agriculture Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.
