Nigeria captain, Onome Ebi has said she is ready to lead the team to glory at the FIFA Women’s World Cup (FWWC) in Australia and New Zealand.
The defense veteran will be making her sixth appearance at the FWWC after making her first appearance in 2007.
Ebi believes the Super Falcons can break its record of reaching the quarter-final stage set in 1999, saying all the team needs is to grab its points at stake.
“It is doable, and it’s up to us to grab the chance with both hands and show the world that we are Nigeria and that we’re not just there to make up the numbers. I’m ready for the sixth World Cup, and we’re ready as a team.”
Super Falcons will be making its tenth appearance at the FWWC and remains the only African team to have the highest appearance at the world cup.
The nine-time African champions will be looking to go past the quarter-final stage it reached in 1999.
