The Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Moyosore Adebanjo, has revealed that women now hold 35% of positions in the recently inaugurated Executive Council.

Adebanjo made the announcement during the first edition of the Chairman’s Business Exchange, themed “Give to Gain,” highlighting his administration’s commitment to promoting women’s leadership and economic participation.

The programme, held in Ikeja, brought together business leaders, policymakers, and representatives of the organised private sector to foster collaboration aimed at driving economic growth and community development. The event also formed part of activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations.

Dignitaries at the event included the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya; the Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, Abdul-Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo; and the Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy, alongside key members of the business community.

Speaking at the event, Adebanjo emphasised the importance of partnership between government and private enterprise in building strong economies.

“Strong economies are not built by government alone. They are built through partnership. When government and enterprise work together, development moves faster and prosperity becomes shared,” he said.

The council chairman also announced the launch of a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) Desk within the Office of the Chairman. The initiative is designed to facilitate collaboration between businesses and the LCDA, attract investment, and promote sustainable development within the council area.
