Sam Ethnan Air Force Base Primary School Road is currently undergoing rehabilitation courtesy of the tireless efforts of council chairman Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, who is working to ensure that all levels of the local government benefit from his infrastructural development strides in Oshodi-Isolo village.

Echonews recall that the residents of the Air Force Base, which is under the jurisdiction of the local government, have been complaining about neglect for a number of years.

In response to their outcry, the council chairman moved to the site to give the Air Force Base a facelift. He did this out of his determination to end the long-term neglect and to further honour the men and women in uniform for their esteem service.

When finished, the road, whose drainage system will also be rebuilt, will connect numerous routes within the Air Force Base.

While visiting the location, the Chairman was grateful for the service members’ patience and priceless assistance. He expressed regret for the extended absence of government activity and acknowledged that, since the late Chief Lateef Jakande, the former governor of Lagos State, his government has been the first to build a road inside the Air Force Base.

He said; “firstly I want to thank our gallant uniform men and women for their service to our nation. I apologize for the prolonged neglect. A substantial part of this base falls within our locality and I am promising you that you shall, moving forward, be seeing our presence. This road will be the first of many others that would follow.

To show our appreciation and commitment to serve our people, Air Force Base inclusive, we had earlier dug a borehole within the Base that is still being used by our people even till date. This road is to further show our commitment to serve more.”
