In fulfillment of his promise and determination to end the water challenges in some areas of the local government, the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has kickstart the drilling of the second phase of 33 additional boreholes within the local government, starting from Alimi Oke Street, Oshodi Lagos.
The council chairman had announced during the commissioning of Alade street that efforts were on top gear towards solving the water problem in some areas as he given approval for the drilling of 24 Boreholes in some identified areas.
The list has however increased in order to reach more areas and serve more people.
The drilling of the 33 pipe borne water across all was of the local government started on Saturday with Alimi Oke Street.
Oloyede noted that the potable water provision is top most in the priority of the administration and he will do everything possible to ensure residents get free potable water across board.
Echonews reports that the council chairman had just completed the rehabilitation of the street and the Oshodi road/Alimi Oke link.
He disclosed that the materials needed for the entire projects have been purchased and contractors mobilised to sites.
He urged residents and CDA covering the streets, upon completion to take charge of the project and ensure its judicious use and maintenance to ensure durability.
A resident of Alimi Oke street, Ms Moduopela Adewale noted that “we have never had it this good before in our local government. The chairman, Kendoo is a God sent. He has performed tremendously well. He has just finished the rehabilitation of our street and now water project. May God continue to bless him.”
Another resident, Mr. Charles Igboikegbu noted that the efforts of the current chairman spread across the local government is well appreciated.
According to him, “I don’t know how to describe the chairman. Where my shop is at Oredehin, if you see how he transform the road, you will be surprised. When he constructed our road, I thought that is enough, but now he’s giving us water, it is only God Almighty that can reward him, I pray God continue to be with him and make him succeed.”
