The residents of Ago-Okota in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have made an appeal to the state government to do more to complement the efforts of the local government on the rehabilitation of the trunk C roads in the community before the rain starts falling heavily.
The Secretary of Ago-Okota Community Development Association (CDA), Olakunle Oluwatosin, who made the appeal on behalf of his people during a chat with ECHONEWS, stressed the need for state government’s partnership with local government on rehabilitation of the roads in the community considering the length, soil type and the high cost of rehabilitation.

“Road is our greatest challenge in this community. The fact remains that most of the roads here are long, up to 2 kilometers. It is a great challenge to make them motorable. Over the time, the local government has been helpful in putting them in good shape for the convenience of residents but, the palliative measures are not sustainable and that’s why we are calling on the state government to consider partnering with local government to proffer sustainable solution to the bad condition of roads in our community before heavy rain starts.
“Our appeal is to the state government and that is for them to do more in complementing the efforts of the council chairman on infrastructural development in Ago Okota community because it appears that the cost implication for a single road is too much for the local government to bear alone.”
