Okada riot: Isolo chairman calls for calm

The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Otunba  Adebayo Olasoju has appealed to law abiding citizens in Ajao Estate, the scene of Thursday’s clash between Okada (motorcyclists) and men of the Nigeria Police to remain calm and conduct themselves peacefully while the government end the violence.

Olasoju, who visited the scene in the company of the Area D commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Aliko Dankoli and other top police officers  said a comprehensive investigation  of the incident has been ordered by the authorities.

“It is expedient to make it clear to all concerned that violence, in whatever form, can not solve any misunderstanding and therefore should be eschewed. Ajao Estate being a major entry point to especially, foreigners coming into our dear nation deserves the serenity obtainable in city of equal status in advanced countries. While the investigation into both the remote and immediate causes of the violence is being carried out, the law-abiding citizens of Ajao Estate are hereby urged to go about their lawful businesses as there is enough security presence to forestall a resurgence. ”

A statement released by his press secretary said the chairman embarked on the eye witness visit to ascertain the scale of the disturbances and proffer solutions.
