In response to the recent cholera outbreak, Ojodu LCDA demonstrated its dedication to safeguarding public health through an awareness outreach campaign, led by the Environmental Department and inspired by Honourable David Olusegun Odunmbaku.

The campaign’s primary objectives were to educate the community about cholera’s causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment. The outreach team placed particular emphasis on the importance of maintaining hygiene, consuming clean drinking water, and practicing good sanitation habits to curb the spread of the disease.

Odunmbaku’s leadership was evident as he addressed the community, reinforcing the message that continuity in public health efforts is essential. He highlighted that maintaining rigorous hygiene practices is a collective responsibility that requires sustained commitment from every resident.

“This initiative is a vital part of our broader efforts to curb the spread of cholera and protect the health of our citizens,” stated Honourable Odunmbaku. “By educating our community and providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge, we can effectively combat this outbreak and prevent future occurrences.”

The outreach program provided a unique opportunity for residents to engage in a two-way dialogue with officials, enabling them to receive personalized advice on how to manage and prevent cholera in their households and neighborhoods. This personal interaction ensured that the information provided was well understood and internalized, fostering a culture of awareness and proactive prevention.

The efforts of Ojodu LCDA, under the leadership of Honourable David Olusegun Odunmbaku, to raise awareness on public hygiene and the prevention of cholera are indicative of his unwavering dedication to the health and welfare of his community.
