In a major boost to public welfare, the Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has completed two motorized solar powered boreholes at Akinola and Kokumo Streets in the Aguda Community.

This people-focused project is part of the council’s continued effort to address one of the most pressing needs of residents, access to clean and safe water.

By using solar energy to power the boreholes, the initiative not only provides a sustainable water supply but also reduces dependency on the national grid, making water more consistently available to the community.

Residents of Akinola and Kokumo Streets, many of whom previously struggled with water scarcity, can now look forward to a more convenient and healthier daily life. Echonews reports that the project reflects the grassroots-centered leadership of Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, who has repeatedly emphasized the importance of delivering essential services that directly impact the lives of ordinary people.

The new boreholes are expected to ease the burden on families, reduce the time spent fetching water, and contribute to better hygiene and well-being, especially for women, children, and the elderly.
