Following the dissolution of the old executive members of Community Development Associations (CDAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs) across the State by the State government and ordered that a new election be conducted, Agura Alaru CDA in Ikorodu LG has elected new eco members to steer the affair of the association.
At the end of the election conducted by the Caretaker Committee, Mr. Olufemi Ogunyemi emerged as the chairman unopposed.
The 12 CDA executive members were produced from the three zones into which the community is divided. Zone A produced Vice Chairman 1, Samuel Adebanjo; Secretary, Mr. Tobi Oremule; Social Secretary, Moses Rachael (Iya Kewe); Chief Whip, Adeyemo Aina; and Ex-Official I, Mr. Ayo Amos, Zone B produced Vice Chairman 2, Mr. Kazeem Taiwo;
Treasurer, Mrs. Lucy Ikechukwu; Assistant Secretary, Adebayo Charity Lawrence; Welfare, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Kayode, and Ex-Official II, Mr. Ihin Ferdinand, while the CDA chairman comes from Zone D, the Zone produces other posts such as Financial Secretary, Mr. Onigbinde;
PRO, Yakubu Yusuf; and Auditor, Pst Kalu Michael.
Aside from the three posts of Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer which were filled automatically unopposed from each of the three zones, other posts were keenly contested which were decided by 52 members of the association in a free and fair election held on August 12, 2023.
Speaking after the election, the newly elected chairman called all other members of the community to work and support them to achieve success in the development of the community and be fulfilled.
He promised to make an effort to make make sure the community gets its share from the governments both at the local and state levels.
