The chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Honorable Rasaq Ajala has pledges to improve sport in the community as he rolled out his achievements.
The council boss said sport is globally acceptable to have the power to change the world and also the power to inspire, unite and create hope in despair.
Ajala added, he’s spurred to improve and promote sports because of the inherent talents and dominance in the LCDA.
The council chairman further reeled his achievements in sports which includes the HRA Youth Cup and other supports to youth groups.
“It is globally acceptable that sports have the power to change the world, it has power to inspire, the power to unite people, it speaks to the youth in a language they understand, it create hope where there was once despair. This belief spurs us to do more in sports and youth development. Our government recognized the inherent talents in our youth and the need to provide the platforms for them to realize their dreams,” he said.
“The projects done in sport includes, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Talent Hunt Competition, Annual HRA Youth Cup, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Sports Fiesta, support, assistance to National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and other Youth Organisation, Annual Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Boxing Competition, support and assistance to school sports, and facilitate, sponsored the renovation and reconstruction of Basketball Court .”
Ajala disclosed that, there are plans in building a sport complex before the end of his tenure which will turn Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye to a sports hub.
