The final phase of the total reconstruction of Ifoshi Road, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area has begun.
It involves the laying of interlocks on the 440m by 15m stretch of road between Falana Bus stop and Iyana-Ejigbo Bus stop, with the construction of drains and curbs.
The work has commenced with the grading of the road.
It would be recalled that the local council just completed the reconstruction of the Pipeline area (beside the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters) down to Falana Bus stop, with a distance of 510m by 14.85m with asphalt.
The council chairman, Alhaji Monsurudeen Bello (Obe), therefore, urged the people of Ifoshi Road to ensure proper maintenance of the road once it is fully reconstructed.
“This is very important to ensure the durability of the road, thereby easing the affairs of commuters and other road users as well as boosting the economy of the area.
“Hence, shop extensions and other illegal structures in the drains should be removed immediately. Also, there should be no parking of vehicles on the road, no playing of football, no partying, no placing of generators, no repair of vehicles, no disposing of refuse on the road nor in the drainage, no destroying of any part of the road nor drainages, e.t.c. Anyone caught doing any of those or deliberately causing any form of destruction would face the wrath of the law,” he said.
