Obasa Pens Moving Tribute To Tinubu At 72

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has felicitated President Bola Tinubu as he clocks 72 on Friday.

Obasa paid tribute to the Nigerian President commending his decision not to be in celebratory mood considering the happenings in the country, an act which shows true leadership, as uttered by the legislator.

Nevertheless, the House Leader said that it was important to celebrate the achievements and footprints laid down by the celebrant alongside policies which has continued to put the state on the global map.

Obasa said, “We pray for good health and strength for the President. He deserves our tribute because the successes so far achieved in Lagos can be linked to his wisdom and leadership capacity.

“When Asiwaju Tinubu became governor, we all know how much Lagos was earning. He successfully moved the revenue of the state from N600 million to over N8 billion in 2007. He also set in motion strategies for the upward progression of the revenue generation.

Obasa further remarked that, “This is not just about his birthday. It is a celebration of Lagos and where his policies have carried us.

“The Lagos Red Line rail project was unveiled recently and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reiterated that the achievement can be attributed to Asiwaju who created the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) while he was governor,” he said.

In his contribution, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Noheem Adams, prayed that the steps currently being taken by the President would bring Nigeria out of its challenges.

Deputy Majority Leader, Adedamola Kasunmu, described Tinubu as a compassionate leader whose legacies have helped in the growth of politicians not only in Lagos but the country as a whole.

Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituecy 01 said that Tinubu’s journey has been one of successes seen in Lagos. He prayed that the President’s current policies would also be beneficial to every citizen.
