NWFL Premiership Super Six match Day one wrap

The NWFL Premiership Super Six got underway at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba as Rivers Angels engaged Robo Queens.

 

Despite the heavy downpour of rain in the game, the match wasn’t devoid of it’s great display by both sides.

Robo Queens had series of chances to nail their opponent in the first 45 minutes but threw them away in a delicate game.

 

Chiamaka Okwuchukwu broke the deadlock of the game in the 36th minute with a ferocious shot to beat the Robo Queens goalkeeper.

In the second half, the rain didn’t stop the action of the game as Adaobi Okah doubles the Pride of Port-Harcourt lead in the 79th minute.

Rivers Angels top the group A of the NWFL Premiership Super Six with three points and Robo Queens will have to defeat Bayelsa Queens to have a chance of qualifying from the group.

 

Delta Queens 3-1 Confluence Queens

Delta Queens thrashed Confluence Queens 3-1 in front of their home fans to seat efficiently in group B.

The Asaba girls started brightly in the encounter as Effiom Ekpenyoung put them ahead with a great finish.

 

Peter Martha leveled the score line for Confluence Queens with a terrific goal beating Anderlin Mgbeche.

Samuel Vera with restored Delta Queens lead in the 34th minute to add more attention to the game.

 

At the dearth of the game, Effiom Ekpenyoung added the icing on the cake for Delta Queens to take a 3-1 lead in the game.

 

Confluence Queens will face Edo Queens on June seventh at the Stephen Keshi stadium in their next game.

 

While Delta Queens will face Edo Queens on Friday June nine.
