Adamawa Queens technical adviser, Jacob Vandi has set an ambitious target for his side in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership this season.

The Yola based side retained their status in the elite topflight women’s football league in Nigeria last season.

Vandi said Adamawa Queens are in good shape for the start of the NWFL Premiership 2023/2024 season despite not engaging in any preseason tourney.

The gaffer stated that, the club have recruited 14 players as he targets taking the club to the NWFL Premiership Super Six and develop players for the national team.

“Adamawa Queens are ready for the season, quite alright, we didn’t go to any preseason but we played a standard match against Nasarawa Amazons and that’s the only thing we did for our preseason. We are still prepared and we recruited 14 players which have been injected into the team,” he told ECHONEWS exclusively.

“I’m assuring that we will do well in the league.

“My plan for Adamawa Queens is to take them to the Super Six playoffs, to develop good players for the national team, U17, U20 and Super Falcons because I have very good young girls that their standard is okay.

“Some of our players left but we have got good replacement for them, very good and talented young girls. Almost 14 players left the club and we recruited 14 back to the club. My target is to win the Federation Cup and qualify for the Super Six playoffs.”

Adamawa Queens will play away to Abia Angels in their first game of the season on Wednesday, November 15.
