NWFL Premiership 22: FC Robo Queens thrash Royal Queens

After been banished from legacy pitch, national stadium, Surulere Lagos to play their remaining NWFL Premiership home matches of the season at Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, FC Robo Queens won their game at the makeshift home ground as they defeated Royal Queens 3-1.

Clinical striker, Taiwo Lawal got a brace and defense marshall, Kehinde Akinwande was also on the score sheet for the Lagos Landladies (FC Robo Queens) as Eunice Godwin scored the only goal of Royal Queens.

From the blast of the referee whistle to signal the start of proceedings, Folashade Ijamilusi and Esther Oyenezide led FC Robo Queens on a ferocious attack on the defense of Royal Queens, which culminated to the first goal of the match as Taiwo Lawal who just returned from International duties for Nigeria U20 side opened scoring in the game.

FC Robo Queens defense minister, Kehinde Akinwande, who happens to be a freekick specialist scored a spectacular freekick from 25 yards to double the advantage of the Lagos Landladies.

Taiwo Lawal got her brace in the first half after a clinical finish to give FC Robo Queens a 3 goal lead in the first half.

Royal Queens tried to muster some chances in the first half but they couldn’t break through to their opponent defense line anchored by Chidinma Ogbuchi.

The second half wasn’t a good one for the FC Robo Queens side as their opponent from Warri, Delta state, Royal Queens pulled their self out of their shells as they begin to threaten the defense of FC Robo Queens.

Royal Queens had their own chances in the second half as they pulled a goal back through a counter attacking move, which was well placed inside the net by Eunice Godwin in the 83rd minute.

FC Robo Queens ran out with a 3-1 win over Royal Queens in this encounter.

FC Robo Queens will next face Abia Angels at the Umuahia township stadium, Abia state on the 2nd of March 2022.
