NPFL 22: NNL welcomes Katsina United, Heartland, Kano Pillars, MFM FC

The 2021/2022 season NPFL have seen Rivers United emerge champions with 77 points and beating their close contender Plateau United (67 Points) with a massive 11 points as both teams qualify for the CAF Champions League.

Remo Stars who just promoted to the NPFL from the NNL was the surprise team of the season as they did well to earn a continental ticket as they will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Nigeria Nationwide League (NNL) have also welcomed Katsina United, Heartland, Kano Pillars and MFM FC with open arms after they got relegated from the NPFL after having a disastrous season.

Kano Pillars was always on the wrong side for most part of the league campaign and shot their self on the leg with their numerous fines and points deduction which resulted in their relegation.

MFM FC had a woeful campaign, which bad management of the team contributed to it coupled with the poor performance of the players and technical crew during just ended season.

Heartland and Katsina United will also be tenants in the very difficult NNL.
