The 2nd edition of the Notayo’s Cup is billed to kick-off in the month of March.
A total of 32 teams are expected to take part in the classical tournament scheduled to take place at Jalisco mini stadium, Oshodi.
Speaking with ECHONEWS newspaper, the co-organizer of the competition, Yemi Okegbenro popularly known as Unstop in the football circle in Lagos said the competition is full of content, which made the organizers to leave no room for favouritism, biased officiating and unsportsmanship attitude.
“Notayo’s Cup is a prestigious grassroots football tournament with credibility. This sporting project is centered around harnessing sporting talents at the grassroots. The sponsor and the host will never relent in maintaining the integrity and credibility of this tournament. Since the inception of this football tournament, the organisers will leave no room for favouritism, biased officiating, hooliganism, unsportmanship attitude from coaches, players and team crew.
“Notayo’s Cup is an open grassroots football tournament, no sentiment, no favourite team from the organizers, only better teams win matches and the best team will emerge as the Champion at the end of the tournament.
“This year’s edition of Notayo’s Cup promises to be in an enviable standard with lots of rich contents.”
The first edition of the competition was won by FC Robo Warriors from Mushin as they defeated Success FC from Oshodi 1-0 at Nitel ground, Oshodi.
