NOA commends Oshodi-Isolo LG on COVID-19

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State Directorate has commended the management of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government on its efforts in curbing community spread of Covid-19.
The Lagos State Director of the agency, Mr. Waheed Ishola, who gave the commendation during an advocacy visit to the local government, said there is need for more awareness through continuous sensitisation programme on the effect of the pandemic, urging the Local Government to set up a task force to ensure compliance with the regulations by National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
“Oshodi-Isolo local government is the only local government my team decided to visit because of its transit and commercial activities, though kudos to the local government authority for their proactiveness on controlling COVID-19 pandemic to prevent the communal spread. Our visit to some markets within the local government axis showed total negligence of guidelines which we appeal to the government to urgently set up a task force for total compliance.”
Ishola further briefed Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Management of his Agency’s activities in the state and donated handbills on prevention of the communal spread of COVID-19 for onward distribution to the people.
Responding, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh, who also commended the Agency for its activities in the dissemination of information especially during the COVID-19 period, promised that his administration would not relent in the efforts to curb the communal spread of COVID-19 in Oshodi-Isolo community.
The Chairman stated that governments at all levels are making efforts to curb the spread of COVID -19 through various awareness campaigns while creating more centers for test.
He said people need to change their orientation and belief on the genuineness of the virus which some termed as false or just fever.
“My administration would continue to strive hard to ensure we curtail the communal spread of the COVID-19 through continuous sensitisation and advocacy of compliance with the guidelines by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
“COVID-19 is real and we must make efforts to strictly followed NCDC guidelines from our homes.
“We would continue to appeal to our people to follow COVID-19 guidelines such as use of facemask, washing of hands with soap and running water, use of alcohol-based sanitizer, etc.”
