The first women indigenous supporters club in Nigeria, Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club (SNWFSC) have decided to partner with the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC) and the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament to educate women football players on abstaining from drugs and take personal hygiene seriously in order not to harm their selves unknowingly.
The President Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club (SNWFSC), Mrs Jadesola Adelabu said Sapphire as a brand focuses on using football to channel development of women football players and also use football as a vessel to engage them professionally to build a career that will benefit their lives and abstain from vices that will be detrimental to their career or lives.
The soft spoken football administrator appreciated the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC) and the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament for accepting to partner with Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club.
“Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club is a brand that focuses on how to use footbal as a vessel to channel the focus of young girls towards their development, what i mean is that, there are so many vices in Nigeria that are detrimental to the development of young girls, my aim is to use football as a vessel to engage them professionally and also build a career that can bring about quality benefit to their lives.
“I want to also appreciate the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC) and the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament for accepting to partner with Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club on a gigantic project of this nature.
“The conference Is meant to be a symposium where, we come to ventilate ideas on how we want to grow as a people, nation and What you have seen over the media is developing the girl child through football and that’s what we do yearly and we will be having our 3rd edition this year.
“We Have notable football administrator like madam Aisha Falode, Super Falcons duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Asisat Oshoala, that will be speaking at the conference.”
The Nigeria Women Football Conference is scheduled to hold on the 11th of September at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin by 1pm where erudite women football personalities will be engaging the football players on the need of not engaging in drugs and upholds the values of personal hygiene.
