The Foundation for Improved Livelihood officially launched yesterday, 27th of November at the MRA Hall in Magodo, Lagos. Olushola Samuel Demilade, Executive Secretary of the Foundation, in his keynote speech outlining the organization’s mission, objectives, and goals.
According to Demilade, the Foundation was born out of a passion for creating meaningful change. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for underserved populations by equipping them with the tools and resources needed to achieve self-sufficiency and dignity.
The Foundation’s vision is to create a world where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstance, has access to the opportunities they need to thrive. Demilade emphasized that this vision is not just a statement, but the driving force behind every initiative, partnership, and step taken towards sustainable development.
Even before its formal launch, the Foundation has already made significant strides in Lagos communities. Through its healthcare programs, it has delivered essential medical services to thousands of individuals, ensuring better health outcomes for those who need it most. The Foundation’s educational initiatives have provided scholarships, mentorship, and school supplies to students who might otherwise have been left behind. Additionally, its economic empowerment programs have equipped small business owners and entrepreneurs with the skills and financial support needed to improve their livelihoods.
Looking ahead, the Foundation’s objectives include:
Expanding access to quality healthcare services.
Providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
Empowering individuals through skills training and economic support.
Promoting social inclusion and advocating for the rights of vulnerable groups.
Driving sustainable development that respects both people and the environment.
Building partnerships that amplify the impact of its programs.
Demilade called on esteemed guests, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations to join the Foundation in its mission. “Every contribution, no matter how big or small, has the power to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve,” he said.
The Foundation invites supporters to make a donation, partner on innovative programs, or share its mission with others. Demilade expressed gratitude to all those who have supported the Foundation thus far, including its dedicated team, volunteers, and partners.
In his conclusion, Demilade emphasized that the Foundation is not just starting a journey, but igniting a movement. “A movement for improved livelihoods, for empowered communities, and for a better world,” he said. “Thank you all for being here, for believing in our vision, and for standing with us as we take this bold step forward. Let’s make a difference, together.”
According to Precious Demilade, Executive Director of the foundation, the initiative was born out of the current economic challenges facing Nigeria.
Demilade stated that the foundation aims to help those who lack opportunities, are struggling to survive, and make a living. He emphasized that the foundation’s goal is to elevate these individuals, provide them with encouragement, and help them realize that their current situation is not the end of the world.
The foundation is specifically targeting widows, the less privileged, and orphanages. Demilade assured that the foundation will work tirelessly to bring about improvement and make a positive impact in the lives of these individuals.
When asked about the foundation’s funding, Demilade clarified that it is not a plea for investment, but rather a call to action for collective support. The foundation plans to expand its reach beyond Lagos and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable Nigerians across the country.
