New Dawn In Ojokoro As BAO Emerges New APC Apex Leader

The political atmosphere in Ojokoro LCDA is about to be rejigged as Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO) emerged the new apex leader of the G6 Leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council area.

Recall that recently the G6 Leaders of Ojokoro lost two of its members to the cold hands of death; Alhaji Hassan Ajeigbe and Alhaji Saibu Adelaja (Baba Ile-Ogbo) – The erstwhile Apex Leader whose demise has left a vacuum in the leadership of the G6 and the Ojokoro political land scape.

After an election of a 7-man electoral college which was held on Monday 21st, August 2023 in which five members present unanimously voted for Olabinjo to steer the leadership of the Apex body, having found him most suitable for the responsibility ahead considering his antecedents and current political rank.

Members of the electoral college who voted include the LCDA Chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (Non Statutory), Alhaja A. Adefolabi, Hon. James Ade Osatuyi, Hon. Adeleke Ipaiye, and Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO) himself.

Others who were unavoidably absent were Hon. Emmanuel Olotu (Non Statutory), and Chief Oluyomi Olaogun.

Olabinjo as a community man was once a CDA Chairman and as a grassroots politician – Congress Chairman (Alliance for Democracy) in 2003, Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area for two terms. He was sometimes member of Lagos State cabinet where he served as Special Adviser to the Government on Commerce and Cooperative matters as well, Special Adviser on Civic Engagement.

He is presently Member Representing Ifako Ijaiye Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

His choice as the Apex Leader was premised on the need to strengthen the All Progressives Congress party in Ifako Ijaiye and Ojokoro as he pledges allegiance to the party and a united constituency.
