New CDA, Iyalaje CDA, inaugurated in Ejigbo as pioneer excos take oath of office

Just three days after the 2022 Community Day Celebration organised by the Lagos Ministry of Local Government and Public Affairs for 4,325 CDAs across Lagos State, a new Community Development Association (CDA) was inaugurated in Ejigbo LCDA yesterday.
The CDA, christened Iyalaje CDA received its certificate of operation on Sunday with inauguration of its pioneer executive members.
While presenting the certificate to the association, the Lagos State chairman of the Community Development Advisory Council (CDAC), Alhaji Azeez Hamzat charged the new CDA on development of the community.
Hamzat preached love, peace security and cooperation among the residents, saying engaging all residents in the development of the community is important to make the environment conducive for living by everybody.”Mobilization of women is very important because their role is very crucial in the community. We also have to collaborate with government while we should not leave all things to the government to do for us otherwise our community will not grow.”
The chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Mobsuru Bello (Obe) congratulated the newly inaugurated executive members of the association, charging them to be committed.He promised to be more dedicated to the development of the community being his own community while highlighting how he championed the construction of the road network within the community.He, therefore, raised the hope of the residents on the procurement of a new transformer that will aid power supply before the end if the year.
The chairman of Community Development Committee (CDC), Ejigbo LCDA, Prince Jelili Atiku, charged the new CDA on networking for development.
He commended the council chairman for bringing development to the community, saying he has done well in the aspect of community development.
Atiku, therefore, promised to always be in support of the CDA and do all in his capacity as CDC chairman and also as a member of the new CDA to make sure the association is moved forward.
While receiving the certificate, the pioneer chairman of the CDA, Barr. Adeniyi Adekunle appreciated the Lagos State CDAC chairman, saying his presence at the ceremony was highly appreciated as the CDAC chairman confirmed that the Iyalaje CDA would be the first CDA inauguration he would attend in the whole of Lagos State.
Adekunke also commended the Ejigbo LCDA chairman for approving the association.
He used the occasion to announce the CDA’s annual ceremony, which was organised in commemoration if the inauguration of the CDA.
The new CDA also launched its security vehicle to curb insecurity.
“We want to launch our own security vehicle to reinforce security architecture of the estate.
“We are also doing education endowment for our children though we have been doing this for sometimes now.”
Speaking on the security architecture of the community, the DPO, Ejigbo police Headquarters, CSP Funsho Gabriel told the new CDA chairman that the task ahead is not a child play, saying the association has to work hand in hand with the police.
He asked him not to leave the issue of security to the police alone, stating that the association must support the police if the security of the community is to be guaranteed.
He encourage them to employ local vigil to complement the efforts of the police.
He warned them against extra judicial killing of suspects, appealing that all arrested suspects should be handled over to the police.
The newly inaugurated members of the association took oath of office from the HOD Agric, Mrs. Adeeko Olayinka, who charged them to abide by the constitution and work harder to win State prize next year.
The CDA honoured the CDAC chairman, the council chairman and the CDA chairman with award of excellence.
